Career Counselors are available to help you take stock of your situation and advise you as to possible career goals. We may recommend classroom training as means to achieve your goal. As part of the counseling process we do an assessment of your interests, skills, previous education, and previous employment.
We use the Career Assessment Inventory and the Strong Vocational Interest Inventory to determine your interests. You will receive a written profile of your interests which will be explained to you by a counselor.
We will help you make lists of your top 24 transferable skills, your technical skills, and your personal strengths.
Your career counselor will use all this information to recommend the career goals that make the most sense for your unique situation.
Job Seeking Skills workshops are held periodically to give you the tools you will need to find a new job. During these workshops we cover:
We currently have over 7,500 employers in our employer database.
We receive job listings from employers in our database on a regular basis. We also make cold calls to other employers in order to expand our job bank.
We maintain a database of our job seekers and the kinds of jobs they are looking for. Every day we compare the job seeker database with our current job listings, looking for a match. When we find a match we let you know right away, either by mail or phone.
We welcome your feedback regarding the jobs we send you. If you want to expand your job search, just let us know which job goals you want to add to the ones we are already looking for on your behalf.
At Quality Career Services we have all our current job listings posted on our bulletin boards. We encourage you to come in and browse through these listings at your convenience.
Networking Meeting: Our job developers host a networking meeting every Monday morning at 10:00. This is an opportunity for job seekers to get together for support, practice networking techniques and to browse through our most current job listings. One of our goals for job club is to help each person plan their job seeking activities for the next week.
If you would like to speak to someone on an individual basis about your job search, be sure to let us know. Our job developer and career counselors are available for individual meetings.
