History of organization
Quality Career Services was incorporated in 1985 as the UAW Local 41 Dislocated Worker Program. Quality Career Services was founded by 200 workers who had been laid off with two hours notice from the Donaldson Company when it closed its Eagan manufacturing facility. With technical assistance from Minnesota AFL-CIO and the State Rapid Response, they submitted a proposal to the state to serve the dislocated workers in a portable classroom on the campus of St. Paul Technical College. In 2003, Quality Career Services moved to more spacious quarters at the present location on Wabash Avenue in St. Paul.
